Hanover Video Group - have made three films about the Hanover area, Talking Shops (1986) about local shops in Hanover; Playing Safe (1988) about Tarner Park; and Cast Aside (1990) about Blaber's Portland Foundry in Portland Street (at the top of Church Street) which was demolished to make way for an office block (which has still not been built). Cast Aside was shown at the National Film Theatre in 1991. Hanover residents the
Blownapart band could be described as playing "Irish" music, though they do stuff from all over the place in their set - Jewish, Swedish, American etc. Instruments used include: Fiddles, Mandolin, Guitar,Whistles & Bodhran (Irish Drum) /Percussion. There are five regular members of the band but they often have guests & new players are most welcome...
