The 818 Club is run by Adventure Unlimited, a registered charity, founded in 1977 and based in Sussex. The charity aims to enrich the lives of young people, in particular those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through exciting, outdoor adventurous and educational events.

Up to two thousand individuals participate in events run by our experienced and qualified staff each year.

We provide the challenge, reassurance and inspiration; the individual provides the enthusiasm. It's a recipe for achievement and rewards: raising self-esteem, confidence and awareness of and respect for self, others and the environment.

We also offer training, work experience, qualifications and improved chances of employment to medium- and long-term unemployed adults.

As their experience and confidence grows, individual trainees take increasing responsibility for the design and running of activities for young people from their local communities. Some trainees join our permanent staff; others enter different fields of employment, such as residential care work, youth work and teaching.   a nice day for it - down the cliff
